175 platoons of BGB deployed

A total of 175 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in 60 upazilas to maintain law and order during the 4th phase of the 6th upazila parishad election.

BGB public relations officer Md Shariful Islam confirmed the news on Tuesday morning (June 4).

The BGB will work as a mobile and striking force to maintain peace and order in the electoral areas from June 3 to June 7.

Upazila Parishad Election will begin on Wednesday morning. Voting began at 8:00 am and will continue till 4:00 pm without any break.

In these upazilas, there are 251 candidates for the post of chairman, 265 candidates for the post of vice chairman, and 205 candidates for the post of female vice chairman.
