Two associates of PK Halder surrendered

Two associates of former managing director of NRB Global Bank Proshanta Kumar Halder have surrendered before the court in 15 cases in the case of illegally acquiring wealth.
The directors of International Leasing and Financial Services Basudev Banerjee and his wife Papia Banerjee surrendered before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Mohammad As-Shams Jaglul Hossain on Tuesday (June 4).
In 2021, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed a case against Basudev Banerjee and Papia Banerjee, along with PK Halder, accusing them of embezzlement.
Halder reportedly amassed Tk 3,600 crore and laundered the money abroad while performing his duties as director at ILFSL. Halder now in jail as Indian intelligence team arrested him.
