Event on International Children’s Protection Day

The Russian House in Dhaka in cooperation with Banani Bidda Niketon Secondary School organized an event on June 2 on the occasion of the celebration of International Children's Protection Day.

The Russian House informed this through a press release on Thursday.

In the opening speech, the director of the Russian House in Dhaka, Mr. P. Dvoychenkov, said some government and non-government holidays are celebrated in Russia as well as some customs and traditions of the country.

On the occasion, the Russian House in Dhaka simultaneously organized drawing competitions for three classes of the institution. Commemorative certificates were awarded to the most active participants.

International Children's Protection Day is not only a fun holiday with gifts and balloons but also an occasion to remind society of the need to observe and respect the rights of the children. This is a reminder to adults of the need to respect the rights of children to life, to protect the legitimate interests of each child and to guarantee the provision of the basic rights of minors, including the right to life, health, education, family well-being, rest and leisure.
