Saudi Arabia to observe Eid-ul-Azha on June 16

Saudi Arabia will celebrate Eid-ul-Adha on 16 June as the crescent moon of Dhu Al Hijjah was sighted in the kingdom on Thursday (June 6).
Following the sighting of the moon, the Kingdom's Supreme Court announced that the first day of Dhu Al Hijjaj, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar, will be on 7 June.

Eid-ul-Adha, one of the two major Muslim festivals, is celebrated on the 10th of Dhu Al Hijjaj.
The National Moon Sighting Committee will hold a meeting today (June 7) to fix the date of Eid-ul-Azha. The meeting will be held at the conference room of Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukarram office at about 7:15pm. Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan will preside over the meeting.
