‘Kawsar shoots constable Monirul during an altercation’

DMP Additional Police Commissioner Dr Khandker Mohid Uddin said according to the initial investigation, constable Kawsar opened fire on constable Monirul Islam at one stage of quarrel in the capital's Baridhara area.
He said this while addressing reporters at DMP headquarters on Sunday noon (June 9).
The additional police commissioner said that Kawsar fired eight to nine rounds of bullets on Monirul Islam. Kawsar was in mental pressure. It’s an unwanted incident. There was no personal clash between them. We are investigating the matter.
Earlier, Gulshan police station’s sub-inspector Md Mannaf produced the accused before the court seeking 10-day remand. Later, the court accepted seven days of remand.
On Saturday night, Monirul was killed and two pedestrians were wounded when policeman Kawsar opened fire near the Palestinian embassy in the capital's Baridhara.
