The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has issued a summon notice to the former IGP Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed’s wife, and two daughters to appear before it on June 24.
A top official of the watchdog confirmed the matter on Sunday (June 9).
Sources said that ACC summoned them today to appear before it for questioning but the accused did not appear before the watchdog.
Earlier on May 28, the anti-graft body issued a notice to Benazir’s Zeeshan Mirza and Rishta Binte Benazir and Tashin Raisa for interrogation over the allegations that they amassed illegal wealth through corruption.
A three-member special investigation team led by ACC head office deputy director Hafizul Islam is investigating the allegation. The other two members of the team are Assistant Director Niamul Ahsan Gazi and Joynal Abedin.
