Probe report in militant snatching case on July 17

A Dhaka court has deferred the date for submitting the investigation report over the snatching of two convicted militants from police custody to July 17.

Monday (June 10) was set for submitting the investigation report in the case but the investigation agency of the case Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit failed to submit the report today, prompting Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim to fix a new date for submitting the report.

Earlier on November 20, 2022, the two militants -- Moinul Hasan Shamim alias Samir alias Sifat alias Imran, and Abu Siddiq Sohel alias Sakib alias Sajid alias Shahab – were snatched from police custody and whisked away when they were returning to jail after a hearing in a Dhaka court.

Inspector Julhas Uddin Akand of DMP’s prosecution division filed a case against 20 militants over the incident.
