A three-member probe body has been formed over the murder of a police constable by his colleague in front of the Palestinian embassy in the capital’s Baridhara area.
The committee headed by deputy commissioner of Gulshan division has been asked to find out the real reasons.
Confirming the matter, Kh Mahid Uddin, additional commissioner (crime and operations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said official steps will be taken after getting the report.
On Saturday night, constable Kawsar Ahmed shot his colleague Monirul Islam following an altercation while they were discharging duties near the Palestine embassy in the capital.
Kawsar Ahmed died on the spot. Senior police officials reached the spot and seized arms from Kawsar.
A case was filed with Gulshan Polic Station following the murder. Later, a Dhaka court placed Kawsar on a seven-day remand.
Police suspect that Kawsar is mentally-imbalanced.
