Over 18,000 families get shelter under Ashrayan-2

A total of 18,566 more families are going to get the houses and lands under the government's Ashrayan-2 Project of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The Prime Minister will distribute the shelters among the homeless and landless families on Tuesday (June 11).

The Prime Minister will open the distribution programme joining through a videoconference from her official residence Ganabhaban around 11:00am. She is scheduled to connect with Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat, Eidgaon upazila of Coxs Bazar and Charfassion upazila of Bhola.

The premier will announce 70 upazilas including all upazilas of 26 districts free of homeless and landless people.

Arifuzzaman, Deputy Commissioner of Bhola said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will provide houses to the homeless and landless people today. Bhola Sadar Upazila has already been declared land and homeless people free. We have got the required houses through the Prime Minister's Ashrayan-2 Project to free the remaining six upazilas from landlessness people.

Under the project, the landless and homeless people will get good quality tin-shed semi-pucca houses on two decimals of land.
