HC asks govt to submit report on Rohingya voters

The High Court on Tuesday directed the authorities concerned to submit a list of Rohingyas who have been registered as voters across Bangladesh so far.
An HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Kazi Zinat Haque passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed in this regard on Tuesday (June 11).
The Election Commission, local government secretary, Cox's Bazar deputy commissioner and other concerned officials were asked to submit the list by August 8.
Advocate Mohammad Siddique Ullah Mia moved for the writ petitioner while deputy attorney general Amit Das Gupta stood for the state.
Earlier on April 24, the High Court wanted to know the number of Rohingya voters in Cox’s Bazar district and directed the relevant authorities to submit a report after investigation on it.
