PM joins 75th anniversary event at Suhrawardy Udyan

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the 75th anniversary event of the Awami League at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Sunday (June 23).

The premier attended the discussion function at 3:42 pm.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Hasina greets the party leaders and activists by waving hands.

The founding anniversary of the Awami League is being celebrated across the country through three-day programs.

Party secretary Obaidul Quader, presidium member Matia Chowdhury, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Dr Abdur Razzak, Shahjahan Khan, Mostafa Jalal Mahiuddin, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Advocate Kamrul Islam and others attended the function.

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the discussion meeting and cultural program. Local and foreign guests participated in the event.

The party was established on June 23, 1949, as Awami Muslim League at Rose Garden in the capital’s old part. Every year Awami League celebrates this foundation day through various programs.
