Independent lawmaker Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman has informed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina about a death threat to him.
The Prime Minister gave him a patient hearing and assured of providing help.
Suman, an MP from Habiganj-4 constituency, shared this on his verified Facebook page on Monday evening.
Earlier, he filed a GD with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station in Dhaka.
Barrister Suman said, “The question has now arisen whether the state machinery wants to keep me alive or not. I filed a GD for the safety of my life. Now it is the responsibility of law enforcement. I do not fear death. But I am concerned about the people of my area.”
According to the GD, Suman said he received a phone call from the officer-in-charge of Chunarighat police station, which falls under his constituency, around 2am on Thursday.
The officer-in-charge claimed that a team of four to five people wanted to kill him.
