Signal 3 continues at seaports, further rain likely

Heavy rain has drenched Dhaka and other parts of Bangladesh since Monday morning. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain to continue for the next few days.

According to the met office bulletin on Tuesday (July 2), southwest monsoon is strong over north Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh. Under its influence, deep convection is taking place and steep pressure gradient persist over north bay.

Gusty/squally weather may affect the maritime ports, north bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted Local Cautionary signal number three.
