Khaleda returns home after 12 days in hospital

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has returned to her residence in the capital’s Gulshan area after undergoing 12 days of medical treatment at Evercare Hospital.

She reached her Gulshan residence at around 6:40pm on Tuesday from the hospital.

Earlier, the former prime minister’s personal physician AZM Jahid Hossain and BNP media wing member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed her release from hospital. Khaleda’s follow-up treatment would continue at her home, BNP officials claimed.

The 79-year-old politician is suffering from arthritis and diabetes as well as complications in the heart, kidney, liver and lungs.

She was admitted to Evercare Hospital on 21 June due to a sudden deterioration of health conditions, and a pacemaker was installed on her heart on 23 June.
