Poet Makid Haider passes away

Eminent poet Makid Haider passed away at his Uttara residence in the capital on Wednesday morning (July 10).

He was 77.

The poet breathed his last at about 8:30am, Makid Haider's son Asif Haider confirmed.

The body of the poet will be taken to Bangla Academy premise at 2pm for people from all walks of life to pay their last respect.

He was born on September 28, 1947 in Doharpara village of Pabna district. His notable books are – “Rode Vije Bari Fera”, “Apon Adhare Ekdin”, “Rabindranath: Nadigula”, “Bangladesher Premer Kabita”, and others.
