Verdict against ex-DUCSU VP Nur Aug 1

Verdict on a rule of contempt of court against former DUCSU vice president Md Nurul Haque Nur over the allegation of making derogatory comments about the court and judges deferred to August 1.

The High Court bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil set the new date on Thursday (July 11).

Senior lawyer barrister Ruhul Kuddus Kazal, Barrister Kaisar Kama moved for the court while deputy attorney general Mainul Hasan stood for the state.

Earlier, a report on Nurul Haque Noor's speech was published in a national daily on December 7 last year.

On December 17, 2023, the HC bench summoned Nur for making derogatory comments about the court and judges'.
