Anti-quota protesters have announced their movement will continue until a bill to abolish quotas in all government jobs is passed in the Jatiya Sangsad.
Students and job seekers will bring out protest processions and hold rallies across the country on Friday.
Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement, announced this at Shahbagh intersection at around 9:00pm on Thursday.
They demanded the passage of a law in the parliament abolishing discriminatory quotas in all grades of government jobs, and bringing the quotas mentioned in the constitution for backward communities to a minimum level.
Earlier, agitating students once again blocked Shahbagh intersection after a face-off with police in the afternoon.
Protesters earlier marched towards the intersection from the Dhaka University central library around 4:30pm for their Bangla Blockade programme against the reinstatement of quotas in government jobs.
