Quota protesters will hold press conference Saturday evening 

Quota protesters will hold a press conference at around 6:00pm on Saturday (July 13) in front of Central Library of the Dhaka University.

The announcement came from a demonstration staged at Shahbagh intersection in the capital Dhaka on Friday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, agitating students brought out a procession on Dhaka University campus as part of their ‘Bangla Blockade’ programme. 

They came at Shahbagh intersection at around 5: 20pm and left the place at around 6:20pm.

The procession also aimed to protest the attacks on anti-quota demonstrators in different parts of the country.

On Thursday, quota protesters announced their movement will continue until a law to abolish quotas in all government jobs is passed in the Jatiya Sangsad. 

Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement, announced this at Shahbagh intersection at around 9:00pm.
