6 killed in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rangpur

Clashes took place among students, activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and police over quota reform movement across the country on Tuesday. At least six people have been killed so far.
In Chattogram, a clash erupted between Chhatra League and protesters demanding quota reform, leaving three people dead.
The incident took place in Muradpur area of the city around 4 pm on Tuesday (July 16).
Both bodies are in the emergency department of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
CMCH Director Brigadier General Mohammad Taslim Uddin confirmed the information.
One of the deceased was a student of Chittagong College and the other was initially reported to be a pedestrian. Another could not be identified immediately.
A student was killed in a clash between quota protesters, BCL men and police in Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) on Tuesday noon.
The deceased was identified as Abu Said, a student of the English Department, session 2019-29, of the university.
Quota protesters brought out a procession at around 1:00pm from Khamor More area and tried to enter the campus.
The clash took place when police and BCL men obstructed them to enter campus.
Police fired 200 rounds of bullets to disperse the students.
At least 50 people including three newsmen were injured in the clash. Among them, four students with serious injured have been admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
A youth, 25, has been killed during a clash between quota protesters and BCL men in front of Dhaka College on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
The youth became injured seriously during the clash. He was immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.
In charge of the DMCH police camp Inspector Bachchu Mia confirmed the news.
