DB raids BNP office at midnight, 7 held

The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police detained at least seven activists of the BNP and its affiliated organisations in a raid at the BNP's central office in Dhaka's Nayapaltan at midnight.

The DB officials entered into BNP office and conducted the drive around 11:30 pm.

Earlier, some explosions were heard from the area around 11:00 pm. Later, the DB men rushed to the spot.

After the drive, DMP additional commissioner (DB) Harun-or-Rashid said that the police recovered over 100 cocktails, 5-6 bottles of patrol, huge number of sticks, and 60 locally made weapons from the BNP office.

The DB Chief also said that we have got the names and numbers of all those who are conspiring centering the quota reform movement. They will be arrested soon.
