Tear gas, sound grenades used to disperse coffin rally

Police fired a few rounds of rubber bullets, tear gas and sound grenades to disperse a coffin rally of quota protesters on the Dhaka University campus on Wednesday afternoon.
Quota protesters held a gaibana namaz-e-janaza, a funeral prayer, in absentia for quota reform movement victims on the VC Chattar of Dhaka University.
At that time six coffins covered with national flags were kept in front of them.
After the gayebana namaz-e-janaza, quota protesters brought a procession with the coffins at 4:10pm. Protesters overcame a police barricade and began slogan.
A chase and counter chase between police and students was held.
At one stage, police allegedly fired a few rounds of rubber bullets, tear gas and sound grenades to disperse the procession in front of the Ruqayyah Hall.
Two students received bullet injury at that time. 5 journalists injured in tear gas and sound grenade attack.
Two students who received bullet injury are Afsana Jui and Abdul Hannan Masud.
