Govt set to sit with quota protesters

Law Minister Anisul Huq said that the government has agreed to hold talks with the protesting students demanding the reform of quota system in government jobs.
“The prime minister has given me and the education minister the responsibility to hold discussions on the quota reform following the proposal raised by the students. We will sit with the protesting students whenever they agree. We are ready to sit for today if they want,” he said while speaking to the media at Ganabhaban around 3 pm on Thursday (July 18).
The law minister said the attorney general has been asked to hold hearing on the quota reform on Sunday (July 21).
