UAE visa not suspended for Bangladeshis

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) did not suspend visa for Bangladeshis, according to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment.

“The news of suspension on UAE visa for Bangladeshi workers is not correct. Wrong information has been provided regarding the issue,” the sources said.

An official at the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment told risingbd on Wednesday (July 24) that the ministry contacted with Bangladesh embassy in the UAE but did not get any information about the visa suspension from the embassy.

Meanwhile, a senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “The information regarding the visa suspension is not correct. It’s a rumour.”

Earlier, a rumour spread that the UAE suspended visa for Bangladeshis following agitation by Bangladeshi workers in Dubai showing solidarity with students’ quota-reform movement.
