DNCC to stand by victims of quota movement

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam will stand by the students and their families who were killed and injured during the quota reform movement.

The DNCC mayor made the announcement after holding a views exchange meeting at his office in Gulshan-2 with vice-chancellors of universities and principals of colleges of DNCC area on Monday afternoon (July 29).

State Minister for Cultural Affairs Nahid Izhar Khan, vice-chancellors of 36 universities and principals of 117 colleges of DNCC area attended the meeting.

Mayor said the DNCC organised the meeting at the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to find a way to restore congenial atmosphere in the educational institutions of his area.

Atiqul also said that the purpose of this meeting is to determine what the mayor and councilors should do in the current situation. The city corporation will submit a report to the government on the suggestions that came from the meeting.
