Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)’s additional commissioner (DB chief) Mohammad Harun-ar-Rashid said no decision has been made yet regarding the release of six quota reform movement coordinators currently under the DB custody.
“The six coordinators will be released soon if any such decision regarding their release is taken,” he said while briefing media on Tuesday (July 30) noon.
Harun said, “Basically, they have been taken into DB custody thinking of their security. Efforts are underway to know why they feel insecure.”
The six coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, currently in the DB custody, are Md Nahid Islam, Md Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Md Abu Baker Majumdar, Asif Mahmud and Nusrat Tabassum.
