Ban on Jamaat: 7 ministers, state ministers in meeting

Seven ministers and state ministers are now holding a meeting on several issues including a ban on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir and quota reform movement situation.
The meeting started at around 3:20pm in the conference room of home ministry.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Law Minister Anisul Huq, Industries Minister Nurul Mojid Mahmud Humayun, Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, State Minister for Information and Broadcast Mohammad Ali Arafat, State Minister for Labour and Employment Md Nazrul Islam and State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak have participated in the meeting.
Top officials of law enforcing agencies are also present.
Earlier, the law minister said Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir will be banned within Wednesday (July 31) under an executive order from the government.
He said if this party is banned, law and order and the politics of the country will also improve a lot.
