BJP Chief Partho on 3-day remand again

A Dhaka court on Tuesday (July 30) sent Bangladesh Jatiyo Party (BJP) Chairman and former lawmaker Andaleeve Rahman Partho, to three-day fresh remand in a case filed over setting fire to the Setu Bhaban in the capital.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Saifur Rahman passed the order after hearing a petition.
The court also granted four-day remand to two other accused named Mir Mohammad Najmus Sakib and Tawhid Ibnur Badar Safwan each in the same case.
Earlier on completion of five-day remand, Abu Sayeed Miah, an inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Police and investigation officer (IO) of the case, produced them before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.
According to DB sources, Partho declared solidarity with the students, who protested for quota reform, and he was also involved in setting fire to the Setu Bhaban.
