HC to hear writ seeking directive to stop firing on students even today

The High Court will also hold hearing today on a writ petition seeking directives for law enforcement agencies not to shoot at quota reform protesters during their movement.
The HC bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice SM Masud Hossain Dolon will hear the writ on Wednesday (July 31).
Earlier, hearing on the writ was also held on Monday and Tuesday.
The writ also sought the release of six quota reform coordinators who are currently under the custody of the Detective Branch (DB) of police.
Supreme Court Lawyers Ainun Nahar Siddiqa Lipi and Manjur Al Matin filed the petition on Monday (July 29).
The cabinet secretary, secretary of the home ministry, inspector general of police, chief of army staff and others concerned were made respondents to the writ petition.
