Ex-Ducsu VP Nur sent to jail in metro station vandalizing case

A Dhaka court has sent Nurul Haque Nur, president of a faction of Gana Adhikar Parishad and former vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu), to jail in a case filed over allegedly vandalizing and setting fire to Metro Rail station in the capital’s Kazipara area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saddam Hossain passed the order on Thursday (August 1) as police produced Nur before the court after end of his five-day remand in a case filed over vandalizing and setting fire to Setu Bhaban in the capital’s Banani area on July 18 and pleaded to keep him behind the bars till the end of probe.
