Signal No 3 at maritime ports, rain predicted all day today

Due to the influence of monsoon, it is raining almost all over the country. According to the Meteorological Department, deep convection is taking place under its influence. It may rain all day today due to its influence.

The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal No 3 as gusty or squally weather may affect them, north Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, said a met office bulletin on Saturday (August 3).

Besides, all fishing boats and trawlers over north Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.

Meanwhile, “light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely in most places across Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions, with moderately heavy to very heavy falls in some areas, and in some places over Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions, till 6pm today," said the weather office.
