Chase and counter-chase at Shahbagh, vehicles torched

A chase and counter-chase took place between the Awami League activists and agitating students in the capital’s Shahbagh amid the ongoing ‘all-out non-cooperation’ programme against the government to realise the one-point demand of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her cabinet’s resignation, announced by the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement.

At one stage, wielding sticks, several were seen vandalising private cars, ambulances, motorcycles, and buses on the hospital premises around 11:30am.

On information, police and fire service teams rushed to the spot and started working to bring the fire under control.
