Ansar tasked with securing police stations, Dhaka airport

The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) have been tasked with providing security at all police stations and the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA). Ansar will provide security to the places in the absence of the police.

Ansar Headquarters issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday (August 6).

There was no police activity or presence of policemen in the capital. Bangladesh Police Service Association (BPSA) announced that they will go on strike until the safety of life is assured.

Ansar and Village Defense Force Assistant Director (VDP Training) and Public Relations Officer Mohammad Rubel Hossain, said that Ansar has already been engaged in traffic management of Dhaka. Ansar deployment at the airport is also underway.
