Indian visa centres closed indefinitely

All Indian Visa Application Centres (IVAC) in Bangladesh will remain closed until further notice. Applicants will be informed of the next application date via SMS, and they are requested to collect their passports on the next working day.

The Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC) issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday (August 8).

A message posted on IVAC website cited "unstable situation" in Bangladesh for the closure.

Earlier, in a message from the Indian Embassy, in the context of the anti-discrimination student movement, Indian citizens and students staying in Bangladesh were urged to limit their movement.
