State Guest House Jamuna ready for Dr Yunus

The State Guest House Jamuna, located on Minto Road in Dhaka, has been prepared to serve as the office and residence of the chief adviser of the interim government, Noble laureate economist Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus.
As per sources at the chief adviser's office and Cabinet Division, Dr Yunus will stay there after he is sworn in tonight.
Several officials involved in preparing the chief adviser's office and residence said that following the decision to form the interim government, Cabinet Division officials had been working on setting up Jamuna as the chief adviser's office and residence, in consultation with the President.
A cleaning worker said, “It is being readied for the head of the country. We are mowing the grounds, clipping the trees. We are preparing with the understanding that he will stay here."
Prior to this, Justice Habibur Rahman, chief advisor to the caretaker government in 1996 and Latifur Rahman, chief advisor to the caretaker government in 2001, spent their terms at the State Guest House Jamuna.
Fakhruddin Ahmed, chief advisor to the army-backed caretaker government, also stayed at the residence after they took power during the 1/11 changeover in 2008.
