Home Affairs Adviser to the interim government Brigadier General (Retired) M Sakhawat Hussain
Home Affairs Adviser to the interim government Brigadier General (Retired) M Sakhawat Hussain threatened to shut down media outlets if they are biased towards any one entity.
“Media will be shut down if they are involved in flattery. I promise you that media will face shutdown if they are involved in the flattery. Don’t invite flatterers to TV talk shows. I advise media not to be flatterer,” he said.
Sakhawat made the remarks while talking to media at the Central Police Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday (August 11) noon after visiting police members who suffered injuries in clashes during the recent mass protests.
“A country is submerged when the media do not speak the truth,” he said.
“I saw what happened in the country through BBC. But our media said nothing had happened. If media had played an objective role, police would not face this situation,” the Home Affairs Adviser said.
