“Those policemen who do not join by Aug 15, will be dismissed”

Brigadier General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain, Adviser for Home Affairs, said policemen who do not return to work by August 15, will be dismissed from the service.

He made the remarks while visiting police personnel injured in the recent violence at Razarbagh central police hospital in the capital on Sunday noon (August 11).

He said we will announce a date. If policemen do not come to their work by that date, we will assume that they are absconding.

He said, I have many mechanisms. There are many mechanisms to make up the gape immediately. I don't want to mention them. The police have been used as a baton force.

"Our society can't run without police," he said.

The adviser said what the army is currently doing was not their job. But they are still doing it. A state cannot run like this. Bangabandhu has of course contributed, but thousands of people fought and 30 lakh people were killed to liberate the country.
