Rail operations to resume with freight trains Aug 12

Intercity trains will start running across the country from August 15. However, freight train will resume the service from August 12. 

Bangladesh Railway Director General Sardar Sahadat Ali confirmed the matter on Sunday (August 11).

He said that freight trains will start service from Monday. Local, mail and commuter trains will run the next day. Apart from this, Bangladesh Railway will operate inter-city trains from next Thursday.

Earlier, rail communications across the country remained suspended since July 19 centering the student protest.
