Cops withdraw strike, return workstation

Police personnel, who were on strike, have announced that they will end their strike after a meeting with Home Affairs Adviser Brigadier General (retired) M Sakhawat Hussain.
Jahangir Alam, Secretary, the Public Security Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, confirmed the matter on Sunday (August 11).
Traffic Police Sergeant Asaduzzaman Jewel, the coordinator of the formation of Independent Police Commission, said that they have returned to work station as the authority decided to accept their demand.
Along with the formation of the Independent Police Commission, the colors of their uniforms are going to change, he added.
A committee has been formed from the police headquarters. The policemen will resume their regular tasks from now on.
Earlier, on August 6, Bangladesh Police Subordinate Employees Association announced an indefinite strike for the sake of their security.
