New Chief Justice pays homage at National Memorial, Shaheed Minar

The newly appointed Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed paid homage to the martyrs of the Liberation War by placing a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar around 7am on Monday (August 12).

Later, the chief justice paid tribute to the martyrs of the language movement by placing a wreath at the Central Shaheed Minar at 8:50am.

Syed Refaat was sworn in as the 25th Chief Justice (CJ) of Bangladesh as President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath of office during a ceremony at Durbar Hall of the Bangabhaban on Sunday (August 11).
