SB Chief Monirul, DMP commissioner Habib sent on forced retirement

Former Special Branch (SB) chief Md Monirul Islam and former Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Habibur Rahman have been sent on forced retirement.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued two separate notifications in this regard on Tuesday (August 13).

Earlier in the day, SB Chief Monirul Islam and DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman were relieved of duty and attached to police headquarters.

A massive reshuffle began in police department after the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on August 5 following the anti-discrimination student movement.
