Police sought 10-day remand for Salman F Rahman, private industry affairs adviser to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and Anisul Huq, former law minister, in a case filed with New Market Police Station over the killing of a shop employee during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mamunur Rashid is scheduled to hold hearing on the remand prayer on Wednesday (August 14).
Based on secret information, Salman and Anisul were arrested in Dhaka’s Sadarghat while the duo was trying to flee using the waterway yesterday.
The duo was arrested on charges of instigating the killing of shop employee Shahjahan Ali, 24, on July 16 during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Victim’s mother Aysha Begum filed the murder case. Unknown people were made accused in the case.
