Protesters take position at Dhanmandi-32

Thousands of protesters took position at the streets adjacent to the residence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the capital’s Dhanmondi 32 as part of the ‘Resistance Week’ programme.
Since early Thursday morning (August 15), a large number of students and civilians gathered in the areas surrounding Dhanmondi 32, including Rapa Plaza. Meanwhile, no one was allowed to enter into the area. The road was blocked putting barbed wire fencing.
Anyone wearing black dress attempting to move towards Dhanmandi-32 are being removed from the area.
Army personnel were deployed in front of number 32 to maintain law and order. Several other police, BGB and army personnel were also deployed at Metro Shopping Mall intersection.
Earlier, from India, Sheikh Hasina urged leaders and activists to gather at Dhanmondi 32 on 15 August to observe the day of mourning. Sajeeb Wazed Joy announced the program on Facebook on behalf of his mother.
