UN team due next week to probe atrocities in Bangladesh

A fact-finding mission of the United Nations (UN) will come to Bangladesh next week to investigate atrocities committed during the anti-discrimination student movement.
United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh, Gwyn Lewis confirmed the development after holding a meeting with the interim government’s foreign affairs adviser Md Touhid Hossain on Thursday (August 15).
The UN will send a fact-finding mission to Bangladesh next week to investigate widespread human rights abuses in the country, Gwyn Lewis said.
