Storm with 60 km/h wind likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said that light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over 16 districts.

According to the BMD, a low pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay and adjoining Gangetic West BengalBangladesh coast. The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, center of the low to Assam across Bangladesh. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.

The statement said light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka & Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions.

River ports in these regions have been asked to hoist 'warning signal No 1'.
