Case filed against Hasina, 33 others for Shapla Chattar mass killing

A case has been filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 33 others for allegedly carrying out genocide firing indiscriminately on the rally of Hefazat-e-Islam in Motijheel’s Shapla Chattar on May 5, 2013.

Mohammad Babul Sardar Chakhari, chairman of Bangladesh People’s Party, registered the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zaki Al Farabi on Sunday (August 18).

After recording the statement of the complaint, the Magistrate asked Motijheel Police Station’s acting officer to accept the case as a first information report (FIR).

Former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, adviser to former PM Salman F Rahman, Dhaka south city corporation mayor Fazle Nur Tapash, former lawmaker Rashed Khan Memon were among the accused.
