Light to moderate rain likely over country

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over 11 districts including Dhaka.

The Meteorological Department also predicted a storm with a maximum speed of 60 km over the country.

Tariful Newaz Kabir, meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), confirmed the matter on Monday (August 19).

As per the latest updates, stormy winds (ranging from 45 to 60 km per hour) are predicted to sweep over Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar.

River ports in these regions have been asked to hoist 'warning signal No 1'.
