Metro rail service likely to resume Sunday

Metro Rail authorities have expressed their hope to resume train operations from Sunday (August 25) as employees have joined work.

A press release issued from the road transport and highways division confirmed the matter on Tuesday (August 20).

Earlier, Md Ahsanul Haque, senior secretary of road transport and highways division visited a metro rail’s Press Club station. Meanwhile, he discussed with staff of metro rail and instructed them to take steps immediately.

MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) and other top officials were also present there.

Metro Rail services have been suspended since July 18 after two stations were vandalised during the student movement.
