Dipu Moni placed on 4-day remand, joy on 5-day 

Awami League Joint General Secretary and former Social Welfare Minister Dipu Moni has been placed on a 4-day remand and former Deputy Sports Minister Arif Khan Joy on a 5-day remand in a murder case.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sultan Sohag Uddin passed the order on Tuesday (20 August).

They were arrested in the murder case of shopkeeper of Abu Sayed who was shot dead in police firing in the capital’s Mohammadpur area during the quota reform movement.

Mohammadpur Police Station Inspector Tofazzal Hossain sought a 10-day remand plea each.
