Ex-state minister, MP among 3 arrested

AB Tajul Islam, former state minister for liberation war affairs, former MP Ahmed Hossain and former RAB spokesperson Rear Admiral Md Sohail have been detained from the capital's Gulshan area.

They were arrested from separate spots in the capital on Tuesday (August 20).

Dhaka metropolitan police (DMP) sources said that a police team arrested Tajul Islam from the capital's Gulshan area. Another police team detained Awami League organizing secretary also former MP Ahmed Hossain from Banasree area of Rampura.

Besides, Md Sohail was arrested from Banani. Later, the three people were taken to DB office in Mintoo Road.

It is mentionable that Captain (retired) AB Tajul Islam served as Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Brahmanbaria-6 constituency during 2009–2024 and 1996–2001.
