Govt opens control room to monitor flood situation

Bangladesh Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre set up control room to monitor flood situation and collect information from field level.
Besides, the leave of all officials and employees in flood-affected districts have been cancelled.
The government issued a press notification in this regard on Wednesday (August 21).
According to the notification, flood situation has been created in Noakhali, Brahmanbaria, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Feni, Chittagong, Khagrachari, Comilla districts and various low-lying areas following the rise of water in Surma-Kushiara, Dhalai, Monu, Khoai, Gomti, Muhuri.
A control room has been opened at level-2, room number-214 of Bangladesh water development board (BWDB). Executive engineer Uday Raihan will work there as in-charge of the control room, said the notification.
